SUMMER LIBRARY READING PROGRAM

The Summer Library Reading Program assists children in maintaining their reading skills over the summer, encourages an appreciation of the library and its resources and fosters a life-long love of reading and learning.

The 2009 Summer Library Reading Program Performer Series is bringing two talented performers to Delaware's public libraries. Michael Forestieri and Megan Hicks will encourage children to "Be Creative At Your Library" with storytelling and crafts.

In 2009, SLRP programming for adults will be introduced for the first time. The Center for the Book will be supporting library programming geared toward fostering common family activities in literacy and learning.

Delaware is a member of the Collaborative Summer Library Program, a consortium of state libraries that work together to produce high-quality, low-cost programs and materials to libraries in their states.
